Justice
So my mind wandered today to the idea behind justice. Justice is an interesting concept. No one can truly define it and separate it from revenge. Justice, to me, is just revenge in the form of a higher power punishing a lower. Since the code of Hammurabi, has revenge has been superceded by justice or has revenge just gotten a new name?

Well, I don't think justice has been super-ceded by revenge, nor do I believe it to be revenge "repackaged."
Justice should be a way of ensuring civil behavior by enforcing consequences for anti-social actions. The intent should never be revenge, but rather peace. And consequences should reflect this idea by being fair and humane in absolutely all circumstances.
